Essentials
Goal
To be the last surviving player.
Challenge
To cross to the other side of the area without being tagged.
Space
A setup that can inspire the players to utilize Parkour techniques to tag and/or to scape.
Players
At least 4 players (one tagger, three runners).
– Optional: Referee.
Props
– Optional: Timer. A rope or something to demark the tagger’s area.
Modifiers
– The floor is lava or not.
– Time limited for runners to cross to the other side.
– Infection tag version or not.
– Restrictions: animal crawls, single leg hops, etc.

Rules
Inspired by the Bulldog game, players must get from one side to the other of the field without getting tagged. Before they go, the tagger will pick one of the runners and ask if he/she is a chicken, a twin or a hero. If the answer is “Chicken” all runners go together. If the answer is “Twin” only 2 players go together. If the answer is “Hero”, the runner goes by him/herself.
- The runner can only move inside it’s area. Usually a straight line perpendicular to the fields lenght or up on the obstacles like if the floor was lava.
- Every runner who gets tagged becomes a tagger as well and helps to tag the others, like an infection tag version.
- The last runner to be tagged or to cross to the other side successfully is the winner.
Figure out how to get to the other side by making strategies with the other players and finding out the most efficient ways and techniques to win.

Benefits
Physical
Power
A sprint towards the other side of the field is your best chance to not get tagged or when trying to tag someone. Agility can help you to change direction quickly and maybe trick the tagger, but as soon as you go for it, you go with full speed.
Footwork, agility and running drills are very much welcome to warm yourself up and others before playing it.
Technical
Notes
Steps, Vaults and Jumps are the usual techniques runners utilyze to cross to the other side of the field. During the game, you will figure out how fast you can perform these techs.
The tagger has usually the challenge to balance over walls and jump or step from one obstacle to another.
Conceptual
Awareness
Social: Keep an eye on the other players so you can find the right moment to succeed. Build strategies with your “Twin” and all the other players when someone yells “Chicken”.
Self: Be aware of the techniques that you can perform fast and accurate so you can apply them on the game. It’s not the time to try new or undeveloped skills.
Environmental: Find the best paths for you to cross to the other side according to your abilities.
Utility
Just like most games, this is a moment to utilyze the techniques that you’re already comfortable with. Figure out how you can apply them even if the obstacles and the environment aren’t the same that you’re used to. This can help you to focus on different types of setups to practice these same techs on your training in order to improve the number of cenarios that you can perform them.
Momentum
Sprinting towards the other side or towards a runner will get you a low of momentum do deal with. Knowing how to change direction with footwork techniques can help you to take advantage of your momentum instead of fighting against it. You can understand better the concepts of Momentum by checking the article Finding Flow – Macro-transitions.
Focus
Talking about the physical aspect of Focus, your peripheral vision can help you to keep track on other runners while your central vision is aiming for a specific player. This way, you can change your target on the best moment possible to succeed.
